Download a version of the Presto Library from the following links. You can simply unzip this to your file system, to a web server or to an app server. For version 3.0 or later, the Presto Library also includes online help for the Presto Hub, allowing you to redirect help to your local, offline copy. See Installing the Offline Presto Library and Help in a Web Server for more information.

Installing Offline Presto Documentation and Help

You can download and install the offline Presto Library to provide off-line access to documentation. Starting with version 3.0, you can also redirect help for Presto Hub to offline documentation if you host this in a web server or application server.

Presto Library is updated frequently, so be sure to check for updates. See Checking for Presto Library Updates for more information.

With version 3.0, the Presto Library and Help is packaged as one simple web site of HTML pages that also uses JavaScript. You can access the offline Presto Library with most common browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Chrome.

You can install the offline Presto Library in your local file system, in a web server or in an applicaction. To redirect help in Presto Hub to the offline Presto Library, however, you must install this in a web server or application server. See Installing and Accessing the Presto Library from Your File System or Installing the Offline Presto Library and Help in a Web Server for more information.

Installing and Accessing the Presto Library from Your File System

  1. Download the Offline Presto Library ZIP file to your computer.

  2. Extract the ZIP file to any folder on your computer. This creates a prestodocs-offline subfolder.

  3. Open the prestodocs-offline/index.html file in your browser.

Installing the Offline Presto Library in a Web Server and Redirecting Presto Hub Help

  1. Download the offline Presto Library ZIP file to your computer.

  2. Extract the ZIP file to a folder under the document root for your web server. This creates a prestodocs-offline subfolder.

    You can now access the Presto Library from http://web-server-name-or-ip/install-folder/prestodocs-offline/index.html.

  3. To redirect help in Presto Hub to the offline help, you must have Presto administrator privileges:

    • Log into Presto Hub and select Manage > Configuration to open the Admin Console.

    • Expand the Server menu and click Help Library.

    • Change the Base URL for help to the URL on the web server where you installed the offline Presto Library and save this update. If you installed the offline Presto Library directly under the document root for your web server, for example, the URL might look something like this:

      http://localhost/prestodocs-offline/

Checking for Presto Library Updates

The online Presto Library is updated on a regular basis, making it your best place to get information for Presto. New versions of the offline Presto Library are available for each update.

To determine if you current offline Presto documentation is out of date, compare the published dates for your documentation with the latest offline Presto Library (see above).

To find the published date for your current offline Presto Library, open the About the Presto Library topic. This topic show the current version of the Presto Enterprise Mashup Platform that this documentation covers and the published date when this offline copy was last updated.
