IE8 grossly incompatible with something - probably Ext

Posted 07/14/2010 - 18:04 by glenn.adams

I have created some mashlets based on the samples for inter-mashlet communication. This uses ServiceStore to load data into a GridPanel. Everything is working as expected in Firefox, Safari, Opera and Chrome. IE is a dismal failure. 1) Clicking a grid row in IE causes 2 rowclick events to fire. Both events have the same target. Mashlet using Google Maps API version 3

Posted 06/15/2010 - 14:46 by glenn.adams

I've been banging my head against this for a while.  It seems so simple, but I can't figure out what is going wrong.

The Google Maps API Version 3 no longer requires an API key.  I don't really care if I have to register for a key, but v3 is now the officail release and v2 has been deprecated by Google:  http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/basics.html#Welcome [Read More...]

Mashup Security - Drinking Wine Without the Hangover

I’m an architect and application layer security guy specializing in enterprise application development. After 20 years in the software security industry, you start to see a lot of the “same old wine in a shiny new bottle”, as my friend and co-author of “Core Security Patterns”, Ramesh Nagappan puts it. A Sneak Peak of Presto 3.0 (Part 2): How to Create an App in 2 (or 3) Simple Steps

Last week we described a few of the new features in Presto 3.0, including 'Hub', 'the launch pad for mashup making'.  While Hub catalogs all Presto resources (mashables, mashups, Apps) into different categories based on type, provider and creator, one of it's most important aspects is that it enables you to create 'an App for that'.  [Read More...]

Mashboard - Connecting mashlets

Posted 06/04/2010 - 11:17 by dd

Hi

I am trying Presto lately, but I couldnt find any documentation how to connect mashlets in mashboard.

For example; I would like to show a grid of data and which ever row is selected I would like to send the address cell of grid to yahoo mahps and show on the map or things like that.

Can someone explain me how to wire mashlets I created. I put the user input tool in the mashup but user input is not set programmatically only I can enter manually then the  mashlet is updated but it is not what I want.

Can someone help?

Thanks

Learn it from THEM not ME

Every mashup starts with an idea but why is it I only ever read about the 'killer apps'? Especially since I have conversations with community members everyday about their small feats to create apps for ad hoc situational needs. Many times these apps are created to increase productivity, reduce development time or create new insights but each time, they all start the same...with an IDEA

So here it is, next time someone asks you, 'How would you use enterprise mashup technology in your organization?' you know where to go for ideas.  [Read More...]

Ext 2.1 and IE 7/8 Compatability Issue

Posted 04/26/2010 - 20:08 by nzblue_fish

Hi mashers,

Just wondered if anyone has run in to compatability issues when using Ext 2.1 and IE 7/8.  I've just finished building a custom mashlet that works beautifully in FF3 (and Safari) but bombs in a spectacular fashion when trying to run it in IE 7/8.

I'm not even sure where to start to try and fix this one, but it is an issue for us as our in-house standard browser is IE.

Thanks, Innes
