padmin with SSL – Getting past SSL Handshake Exception

Posted 03/01/2011 - 16:44 by Mike Bennett

Introduction

For security purposes, many organizations choose to entirely disable plain HTTP traffic to their servers in favor of the encryption (and sometimes authentication) provided by HTTPS. Presto’s server side is agnostic to the transport, and lets the application server do its part. The same is almost true for Presto’s command line administration tools (padmin and migrate), as well as Presto’s EMML command line client tools (emml, emmlpub, macropub).

Running Presto 3.x/Tomcat as a Windows Service

Posted 12/21/2010 - 15:35 by Mike Bennett

Introduction

The other day one of our customers asked me for help getting Presto/Tomcat up and running as a Windows service.   What I thought should be a fairly simple task turned into tedious hours of Googling, tweaking, and re-trying various things to no avail until I finally realized the problem. If you’re banging your head against your screen trying to get Tomcat to run as a Windows Service then read on.

Print capability for views in apps

Posted 11/15/2010 - 15:18 by adiaz@alumni.ufl.edu

Presto Version: Presto 3.0

Hello,

I have a user population that would like a print feature for Apps (or any view). For example when they have a Grid View that is paginated they would like a print icon on the view to be able to print all the data associated with this view on paper/PDF. They frequently are on travel and won't have access to the Presto server to pull information, hence the request.

Is this something Presto has a solution for? Any examples on how it has been coded to solve the issue would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony
