The map view does not solve the kml file, especially, a kml file has to come from a public site, also there are versions of kml for google maps and google earth. So far, the kml needs to be translated to simple coordinates. So, map view just takes the coordinates as latitude and longitude from a file or from a service, you can to registry it in Presto through following menu's options "Register / XML File", after that, you can to create a new Map view. So this takes the coodinates according to latitude and longitude. Anyway, please can you to attach you kml file and resources, so, We can answer you of the better way.
Actually, I would like to know what do you want to do in your app?
What is the proper way to upload KML files the will overlay on google or bing maps? After uplaoding a KML file I try to create a view of the data with google maps only a blank canvous is shown on the map display.
