Rahul,
The Developer's Guide has a great section on 'Using Mashboard'. It helped me get Mashboard up and running pretty quick. Take a peek and let me know if you need any more help with this.

Unfortunately, we do not yet have direct URLs to every topic in the documentation. Mashboard is one of the web applications installed with Presto and deployed in Tomcat. It isn't, explicitly, covered in topics on deploying Presto in other application servers. But that said, you should be able to deploy just like Service Explorer so the basic instructions in the docs should work.
Any user who has access to that application server should be able to access Mashboard -- but it would be their dashboard that they could build themselves. It sounds like you want to use this vaguely like a portal -- you build the tabs and users simply access them. Right?
If so, I don't have an immediate answer (but I will try and get one).

The idea is that the Mashboard sample web application could potentially be deployed onto any web server, it doesnt have to be deployed on the same server as Presto. Mashboard can be configured to connect back to any Presto Mashlet Hub, not just the host from which it was loaded. Having said that, Mashboard needs to be configured to connect back to Presto to perform user authentication and to retrieve state, so if you are considering deploying Mashboard to an alternative web server a few code changes would be required so I don't recommend this at this time.
With the current version of Mashboard it's not possible for a user to share their Mashboard configured state with other Presto users. You're probably aware of how the Mashboard configured state, (tabs, mashlet palette and toolbar state) can be saved and is reloaded each time you log in. Tabs within a mashboard are not url addressable at the moment, but one possible solution would be to set up a new Presto user account which you would share with your target users, then login to mashboard as that user and set up the necessary Mashlets on a tab, save the Mashboard state with that tab currently active. Then when your target users login to Mashboard using that shared user account name they should be presented with the selected tab contents.
We're working on a set of enhancements to Mashboard to improve the way Mashboard content can be shared between Presto users.
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the reply. I have already gone through the documentation and I found this line under the working with mashboard topic stating "Or, you can deploy Mashboard to end users to give them access to mashlets in your organization.". So my question was how do I deploy the mashboard as such? Currently I can access it and organise my mashlets et al the way I want but how do I show it to my end users?
Hope my question was clearer this time..Thanks
Rahul
Hi sara,
Thanks for your reply, what you have understood is correct, I want to use the mashboard as portal or in some ways like an internal iGoogle page. I thought the mashboard could be used in such a way because a line in the developers guide states that the mashboard can be deployed and it can be accessed by the end users.
Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks
Rahul
Thanks for the reply jeremy, it is a great idea. Currently it is the best I can do I guess. I was hoping that the end user can just hit a url and see the mashboard ie without the login, and also without him having the controls to configure the mashlets and change the mashboard for everyone, but seems like your idea is the best I can do now..Thanks!!
Rahul

Hi,
I have created a few mashlets for my organisation and I would like to share them with my end users. Mashboard seemed like the perfect thing for it, but how do I give the end user the url of a specific tab?
This is a line I found in the doucumentation, can anyone please explain how to deploy a Mashboard?
"Or, you can deploy Mashboard to end users to give them access to mashlets in your organization."
Thanks,
Rahul
