As some of you might know, we've been busy working on the next release of Presto, version 3.0. We've given a few lucky folks a sneak peek and, in the spirit of community, we've asked them to share their thoughts. Here's how Bill Ives from the App Gap put it:
"Presto 3.0 builds off the Apple concept to provide a place to share mashups and find the components for new ones. This is yet another of the recent examples of the consumer market driving innovation in the enterprise market. The Presto mashups can have widget interfaces that can be embedded in other apps increasing their flexibility and the range of applications. The Enterprise App Store is targeted to help both users and developers.".
Did he say 'Enterprise App Store'? Yes, he did. Presto 3.0 is getting many major improvements all in support of one goal: to give you everything you need to find, make and share mashup-driven Apps. New to Presto and wondering how it delivers on an 'Enterprise App Store'? Are you familiar with Presto and wondering what's new? Want to be one of the first to see what an Enterprise App Store could look like in your organization?
This blog is your one stop shop for answers to all those questions. Every week we'll blog about something new in Presto 3.0. In our Week 1 sneak peek we're highlighting 2 entirely new areas of Presto: Hub and Mashboard. (And check back regularly, as we're gonna highlight something new every week until the formal launch on June 30th!)
Hub: The Launch Pad for Mashup Making
Apps are all about community and collaboration. Hub is the central location for mashup makers to find, reuse and build mashups using Hub's sophisticated set of visual and programmatic web editors. (but we'll talk about those editors next week)

Mashboard: Visually Assemble & Combine Your Apps
If you've ever poked around in the guts of the Presto 2.7 sample code, you've probably come across Mashboard. Because people liked it so much, we decided to formally support it in Presto 3.0 and also add some major new features and functionality. Sometimes one app just isn't enough, Mashboard allows you 'wire' apps together to create groups of sophisticated apps.
Excited already, interested in being part of the Presto 3.0 Beta Program? Simply send me a note, I'll do my best to make room.
