Every mashup starts with an idea but why is it I only ever read about the 'killer apps'? Especially since I have conversations with community members everyday about their small feats to create apps for ad hoc situational needs. Many times these apps are created to increase productivity, reduce development time or create new insights but each time, they all start the same...with an IDEA

So here it is, next time someone asks you, 'How would you use enterprise mashup technology in your organization?' you know where to go for ideas.

  • Sagar Kumar from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee said "Rightfully said 'Necessary is the mother of invention'. We required RSS feeds from various websites and needed to apply some filtering mechanisms on that merged stream. In no time I found my team learning to use Mashups and I am happy to tell you that all of us find it very interesting to learn and apply in our projects."
  • Charles Mancuso from Kratos Defense & Security said "We've got many different web applications, most (but not all) using the same database instance. Part of our customer's strategic initiative is to move towards a service-oriented architecture. We hope to quickly build some services on top of the existing data (my primary concern will be how easy/difficult/seamless adding business rules to those services will be).
  • Rajesh from Genpact said "For me its ease of development. After using other portlet technologies I find Mashlets super cool and easy to develop which benefits us in cost saving and also developing quality products."
  • Trisha Morris from BAE said "Corporate merging so switching over of multiple systems – would like to be able to bring all the data together and make it more time efficient for people to work during this period of transition."
  • Rudyandi Praditya said "I work in a logistic & warehouse services and would love to see some mashup examples created within this industry. Things related to better visibility in the supply chain will help (delivery tracking, scheduling & route planning, fleet/transport mgmt, etc)."

There you've heard it from community members themselves. Now who's next? Share your mashup idea and empower others to believe in the power and benefits of enterprise mashup technology.
