My Fellow MDC Members,
I wanted to take a minute and introduce myself as the new Mashup Developer Community manager. My name is Jessica Agunsday (you can call me jess) and I’ve been a member of the MDC since its birth. I’ve watched the community grow to over 4,000 members in its first year and I am honored to be the Mashup Developer Community’s guiding hand in 2010 and beyond. I am very passionate about emerging technology and community engagement, please introduce yourself and tell me what motivates you.
Over the last several weeks, I’ve called on many of you to provide feedback on community experience, training materials, product support, design recommendations and overall site enhancements. I took your feedback, prioritized the effort and set off on our 2010 mission. Now I can assure you, there's more work to be done but together we've built a solid foundation. Take a look:
-
We created ‘Mashup Interest Groups’ so each and every masher can have a group of fellow mashers who share their same interests. Whether that’s learning the Fundamentals, creating mashup associations with SOA or skipping straight to the Extreme. There is a group for you or a Space for Rent.
-
We built upon the user’s MDC profile. Now every member has a place to call home. A place to build your network of friends, a place to show-off your latest creations and place for you to get involved. So do it, build your profile, share your thoughts and make friends.
-
We made a conscious effort to make all mashers Day 1 experience easy, fun and valuable. Check out the ‘How Do You Get Started’ block on the homepage where you’ll find some of the perks of being an MDC member.
-
We launched our new ‘Contributor’s Corner’ which is all about you. We reward great ideas, awesome mashups and dedicated mashers. You can be the ‘Member of the Month’ too. Just ask Innes, he’s done some really cool stuff.
And the best part is we’re not done, we’re just getting started. Wouldn’t it be cool if the Presto Enterprise Mashup Platform was running on the Cloud or the Mashup Developer Community got a face-lift? All ideas from fellow mashers, do you have an idea? Because I'm listening and I would really appreciate your feedback. (we're friends, send me a message)
Mash On!
