25 Lines of Code DOES = $250!
About a month ago we announced the 'Share Your Mashup Macro' Contest, and a chance to win some mashup cash. And as suspected, money is a great mashup motivator. So what kind of Mashup Macros are your fellow mashers building?.
All the submissions clever and useful. But I wanted to point out a few of my favorites. Don't worry if your submission wasn't mentioned - your check is already in the mail. One of our first submitters, Juan Carlos Fuentes created a Mashup Macro that takes repeating data from any service and produces a standard format that can be instantantly visualized in all (single series) Fusion Charts. Sounds easy enough but being able to reuse this Mashup Macro saves you not only time but also allows you to visualize any mashup in any Fusion chart without any additional lines of code.
Another Master Masher, Michael Van O’Linda describes his Mashup Macro; ‘this was one of my first attempts at getting my feet wet with this kind of stuff, simplistic yes but when put into Wires it works with any given input’. Michael’s Mashup Macro accepts a Fibonacci sequence number input you want and then outputs the Fibonacci number. As he mentioned, ‘simplistic yes’ but useful and resuseful, the true value of Mashup Macros. The more we can reuse, the more time we have to innovate. That's why Mike is our ‘Master Mashup Macro of the Month’ winner. Congratulations Mike, thanks for ‘getting your feet wet’ and sharing what you’ve learned with all of us.
So what are you waiting for, keep the cash flowing the Mashup Macros coming. Submit your Mashup Macros to communitymanagers@jackbe.com today!
